Like to Play With Fire??

Then come check out Sunday's reading and discussion from Inspired Madness: The Gifts of Burning Man.

In part a nonfiction discussion of the Burning Man festival, in part a poetic romp through Nevada’s Black Rock desert, Inspired Madness: The Gifts of Burning Man is both an irreverent introduction for those curious about the notorious event and an exhilarating reminiscence for veteran "burners." This book combines a history of the festival with personal stories and social commentary, juxtaposing images and stories to capture a sense of the wild and unpredictable nature of life on the Playa. Interweaving dialogue, anecdotes, and stream-of-consciousness narrative with historical, sociological, and political observation, Inspired Madness evokes the half-waking, half-dreaming quality of the Burning Man experience.

Have You Seen Sketchbook Number Eighteen??

Yesterday's opening reception for Scribbles: The Sketchbook Show was a wicked good time enjoyed by all who love art, candy, and fun.

Until, that is, something put a damper on the fun--the disappearance of Richard's sketchbook #18! Number eighteen looks similar to its cohorts pictured above except, of course, for the fact that it's numbered "18."

While Richard is flattered that someone appreciated his work enough to want to look at it away from the shop, he'd really appreciate the safe return of number 18 to its rightful owner. So, make your photocopies, appreciate it while you can, and please, please return number 18.

No questions asked.
