If You're A Poet and You Know It...Or Not

Either way, you should come and join your host, poet Rachel Beth Meyer, at Feed Your Head Books for a Bouts Rimes (pronounced boo-re-MAY) Brunch! Meaning "end rhymes," this particular word game involves creating poems built around a preset list of rhyming words. Although invented by French poet Dulot in the seventeenth century, this Bout Rimes event is inspired by Alexander Dumas (author of The Three Musketeers) who compiled a book of Bout Rimes written by French poets in 1864. He ended up with 350 poems! Let's see what we can come up with! A Bouts Rimes reading will follow.

Come join your fellow poets for brunch. We will be supplying the food and the end rhymes; all you have to bring is your creativity. Please join us on Saturday, September 23 from 11 am - 1 pm at Feed Your Head Books, 272 Essex Street, Salem, MA. Free and open to all. For more information, please contact randie@feedyourheadbooks.com or call 978-744-4009.
