are both taking place this Saturday, November 18!

First up, at 1 pm, is a quick fiction workshop hosted by Jennifer Pieroni, Editor in Chief of Quick Fiction, a biannual print journal that features prose poems and stories under 500 words. Join Jennifer for an afternoon workshop on very brief fiction, including fun writing exercises, a fresh packet of writing prompts, and answers to some of your questions about getting published. Jennifer Pieroni is a graduate of the Writing, Literature, and Publishing program at Emerson College. Her short short stories have appeared online in Opium Magazine, Pindeldyboz, Hobart, and Del Sol Review. They have also been anthologized in the Mammoth Anthology of Miniscule Fiction and Brevity and Echo: An Anthology of Short Shorts from Emerson College Alumni.

Boston’s Weekly Dig has called Quick Fiction “a journal filled with great work from writers who respect the rigid, potentially gorgeous contours of microfiction and have a great deal to say in very little time.” NewPages.com says “I cannot praise this inventive magazine enough; spend a few hours with this issue of Quick Fiction for a dose of creativity and uniqueness of vision that’s all too rarely found in the contemporary literary landscape.”

$20 registration fee (includes workshop, packet of writing exercises, and a copy of the latest issue of Quick Fiction) can be mailed to Feed Your Head Books or paid upon arrival. Please call 857-891-8173 or email jpieroni@jppress.org to reserve your spot.

After writing up a storm, at 5 pm, we're having our First Annual (hopefully) Very Vegetarian Thanksgiving. A main course and beverages will be provided, but all attendees should contribute a vegetarian appetizer, side dish or dessert, as well as photocopies of their recipe so everyone can have their very own vegetarian Thanksgiving! If possible, please RSVP to info@feedyourheadbooks.com or 978-744-4009.
